Biography
Anja Blacha is an extreme mountaineer and multiple record holder: she established the record for the longest solo, unsupported polar journey by a woman in history, when she skied from the Antarctic coast to the South Pole in 2020, she is the first German woman to have climbed K2, and the youngest German to have climbed the Seven Summits. Anja’s expeditions attracted great interest by the international media, and she has used that stage to launch the campaign „Not Bad for A Girl“.
Anja Blacha holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim, followed by an MA Philosophy from the University of London. The Magazine Zeit Campus named Anja one of “18 for 18”, a feature of 18 people under age 30 who have an impact in Germany. The University of London awarded her the title of Sportswoman of the Year in 2012 for her accomplishments as a fencer.
