Frank Salzgeber
Biography
As Managing Director of Space Sector of the Saudi Space Commission (Space Agency) Frank supports the build-up and operations of the Space proprammes of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, becoming one of the top 10 Space Agenies by 2030.
Frank spent 19 years in the European Space Agency (ESA) as Head of Innovation and Ventures Office and he builted the largest space entrepreneurship network in the world (ESA BICs). His ESA team initiated over 370 industry transfers and aided over 1,300 start-ups. Additionally his office supported over 1,000 downstream business cases. During his ESA care he also headed the Technology Transfer office as well as the Commercial Expoloration unit for Human Spaceflight and Exploration. His ESA team supports Industry to work with ESA, venture capitalists to connect to start-ups and helps new space companies into orbit and to the Moon.
Before joining ESA, Frank held the position of Founder and CFO / COO for an IT start-up, headquartered in Munich, Germany. Frank also spent seven years at Apple Computer, now Apple Inc., as an account and sales manager, responsible for Central Europe.
With an extensive international experience gained from many years of working with leading research organisations and hundreds of start ups Frank communicates the importance and fascination of curiosity to a wide audience. He shows decision makers from all industries the importance to foster innovation, crazy ides and to stimulate entrepreneurship and disruption.
