Gregor Gysi
Biography
Gregor Gysi is one of the most popular politicians in Germany. He was a key politician of the political party Die Linke and is still working as a lawyer. Since 2020 Dr. Gysi is foreign policy spokesman of his parliamentary group. In 2002 Gregor Gysi was Berlin mayor and Senator for Economics, Labour and Women’s Issues.
Dr. Gysi was Chairman of the PDS from 1989 to January 1993. He was then chairman of the parliamentary PDS-Group and from 1990 to 2002 and again from 2005 he was a member of the German Bundestag. During the Greek government-debt crisis in 2015 Dr. Gysi was one of the leading supporters of Greece.
