Julia Shaw
Biography
Julia Shaw (born 1987) is a renowned psychological scientist at University College London. She is a bestselling author and Co-founder of the start-up Spot that empowers organisations to build a more inclusive and respectful work environment and helps employees report workplace harassment and discrimination.
Julia Shaw earned a master’s degree in Psychology and Law at Maastricht University and received a doctoral degree at the University of British Columbia, Canada, in 2009. Julia’s expertise is in false memories and how prosecution can use “tactics that may lead people to recall crimes that never happened”. She is an expert in the areas of criminal psychology, memory, diversity and AI, her work often appears on TV, radio, online and in print. Julia’s book ‘The Memory Illusion’, published in 2016, was an international bestseller that appeared in 20 languages. In 2018 Julia published her second book ‘Making Evil: The Science Behind Humanity’s Dark Side’, which also became an international bestseller.
