SAP’s Chief Futurist

Biography

Martin Wezowski is the Chief Futurist at SAP. He is responsible for SAP’s long term innovation vision as a fundament for SAP’s corporate foresight and innovation strategy. He’s mission is to “know and show what is next for SAP and the future of work”, more specifically, he crafts future software and platform concepts, narratives and outlooks, defines and runs innovation frameworks to prepare SAP’s and it’s vast ecosystem for the future.

The vision is that humans and machines work in a symbiosis, human ingenuity and machine intelligence in optimal balance, where learning and discovery is bi-directional, where technology learns HUMAN, understands, augments and respects each one of us in a hyper-personal way”

He is active outside SAP, WEF Strategic Foresight Forum, a faculty member of Futur/IO, a European future institute and other education programs, he advises on several boards, and heads up his own “The Wezowski” as lecturer and advisor in transformative innovation, methods to “lead from the future”, and future-ready change-leadership.

2017 he was named 1 of 100 most innovative minds in Germany as the “Software visionary” in the prestigious German business publication Handelsblatt.

Martin explores the mechanics and practical methods for transformative change. What it means to be an innovator and strategist is changing fast, from classic product definition to systemic interplay of “everything”, including social and political systems, deeply rooted in the challenges and promises between cutting edge tech, and human potential.

This means that when the future is faster than our organizations and ecosystems, we need to practice foresight and design a relationship with our partners and customers, when we do that the product will naturally follow. The rapid change is an asset, our most important innovation brief and the stakes to get the “right thing right” are high.

Technology is human evolution, it creates a playground that Martin calls the “Humachine”, a symbiosis between human ingenuity and machine intelligence, this opens new horizons for our imagination in a time when “now” has never been so temporary. He asks “what is human, and what is work in a superhuman future?”

Prior to joining SAP he moved across a range of disciplines from strategic leadership, systems design to human experience crafting. He worked for Sony/Ericsson in Sweden/Japan, as Creative Director, later, in Shenzhen China, as Director of the Strategic UX Board for Huawei.

He builds on his international adventures stretching from Poland, Sweden, Japan and China to Germany, and carves out time from the vision and strategy work to frequently share his passion for leading from the future, with a clear vision for humans and technology around the world.
