Christoph von Marschall
Biography
Christoph von Marschall is the Chief Diplomatic Correspondent of “Der Tagesspiegel”, the leading daily in Berlin, and an internationally recognised expert on the US and its President Donald Trump. From 2005 to 2013 and in 2017/ 2018 he was based in Washington and a member of the White House Press Corps. Besides his work for “Der Tagesspiegel” von Marschall is a regular guest in TV shows.

Christoph von Marschall holds a Ph.D. in Eastern European History from the University in Freiburg. His journalistic career began at Süddeutsche Zeitung in 1989. Christoph von Marschall has won several awards including the German-American Commentary Prize for an editorial on the attacks of 9/11 and its consequences for US Foreign Policy, furthermore he won the German-Polish journalism award. He was also awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland for his contribution to German-Polish reconciliation. In 2010 he received the Steuben Media Prize for his books about the US, 2019 the Lucius D. Clay Medal and 2020 the Duchesse Hedwig of Silesia Award of the University of Wroclaw (Breslau).
